Hello all! I hope you're having a fabulous start to your decade! As the holiday season comes to a close and we enter into this new year, I hope you feel encouraged to make the most of your time and of your space. New year, new you, new paint!
Jolie has named Legacy the 2020 Color of the Year and we are SO about it. For the next few weeks I'll be posting several Legacy-inspired color mixes and inspiration photos to our instagram @paint_shoppe_! So be on the lookout for that. For now, let's talk about Legacy, why it was named Color of the Year, and the significance that I think it has when it comes to our new decade. Welcome to the Roaring 20's Round 2!
According to Jolie, Legacy is the 2020 Color of the Year because of the versatility that comes with it! Legacy can be incorporated into bold or soft, modern or traditional.. whatever color palette you choose (because it works like a neutral). This is the perfect color to tackle projects at the beginning of the new year because like the new year, it's just chocked full of potential and opportunities.
And I don't know about you, but I got some serious 1920's vibes from this color the first time I saw it. It's just about the color of a fancy champagne bottle. To prove my point further: The 1920's in the United States were all about luxury! I'm sure you've seen The Great Gatsby (2013) film, with its bright metallics and plentiful confetti; Gatsby's parties also featured a lot of blue-greens that you might find familiar. Legacy could definitely find a home in Gatsby's mansion! Bold colors, such as Marigold and Rouge are just a few more examples of hues that well-represent the era.
If that wasn't enough for you, stay tuned for more Legacy content on our socials: Instagram @paint_shoppe, Facebook: Southern Institute of Faux Finishing. And with that, I hope you have a fabulous week and a wonderful January!
Cheers to the New Year!
